i remember going to see the two dalek films as a boy in 1965/66 and i still remember how great the daleks looked in the different colours. and i have got the dvd of the films and now I’m a lot lot older and i still think the same . for me the film daleks were the best.

The reason I sometimes use the ‘improper’ versions of Dr. and the Tardis is because of the fact that not everybody uses the right version to search the internet.

In the way of a postscript, I’d like to ask why you occasionally refer to the show as “Dr. Who,” when all true fans KNOW that the correct name of the show is “Doctor Who,” and that the abbreviation “Dr.” is never to be used, because the character’s name is “The Doctor;” and why you occasionally refer to the TARDIS as “the Tardis,” which is usually another common pet-peeve amongst true fans?

The BBC never made a TV movie called Doctor Who and The Daleks.
In 1965 (less than 2 years after the original serial, not a few years), Regal Films International (not the BBC) released a film (theatrically, not on television) which was produced by AARU Productions (again, not the BBC).
This film was entitled “Dr. Who and the Daleks,” not “Doctor Who and The Daleks.”
It was not made to introduce more people to the serial, as you say, but to cash in on the enormous popularity that the Daleks were experiencing at the time.
Ever heard of “Dalekmania?”
